    • (FREDERICK) PAGET BOWYER was born at South Norwood, Surrey on 28th November 1911, the eldest of four sons.

      He was educated at Dulwich College and University of London, where he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science (Engineering) with second class Honors. He also obtained the Diploma of Imperial College, and later became a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, and a Fellow of the Institution of Production Engineers.

      He joined the British Broadcasting Corporation as a graduate apprentice, and later as an Assistant to the Superintendent Engineer. He spent 9 months with Philips Industrial Limited, before joining Arthur Lyon & Company as Assistant Works Manager. In October 1939, he was appointed a Sub-Lieutenant, RNVR, and sent to join his first ship at Sunderland, having been for some years a reserve, and served at sea in the Orkneys.

      In May of 1940, he was released from these duties at the request of the service departments, to return to Arthur Lyon & Company, when he was appointed Works Manager, later involving 400 employees. At the end of the war, he started his own company, which exists today. In June 1940, he married on 22nd, Sylvia Joan, third daughter of Alfred Douglas Pass, of Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset, a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Dorset.

      He lived at Coleshill, Amersham, Bucks for a large part of the War, before moving to Corfe Castle. They had four children Sylvia, Michael Paget, Rosemary and Elizabeth.

      He became a Manager of Corfe Castle Primary School in 1946, resigning 30 years later, and in 1950, Chairman of the Governors of Wareham Modern School, resigning in 1974. He had served on the District Council, and the Parish Council for 20 years. He was associated with Youth activities in Football and Athletics over the years.
